Cambridgeshire Childcare Sufficiency Survey

About the Survey
The Early Years and Childcare Team is gathering data termly from all early years education / childcare providers to update the statutory Childcare Sufficiency Assessment. 

This data is used to help support the sustainability of existing childcare providers and to plan for the needs of families in Cambridgeshire.

Contributing information to this termly survey is part of the conditions of the Local Agreement. 

This applies to all:


• Childminders and Childminder teams

• Breakfast Clubs

• After school Clubs

• Holiday clubs

• Safe-Places-to-be

• Day Nurseries

• Childcare on Domestic Premises

• Pre-schools

• Nursery Units of Independent schools

• LEA Maintained Nursery school/Classes

• Creches

How to submit your data
All providers should complete the online form, one per carescheme using information from the designated survey week.  If you were not open during the survey week then please choose a recent typical week and return the numbers for that (full instructions within the survey form).

Prepare before you submit online: here are the questions:

1. Identify you and your setting by name and postcode.
2. Identify the type of carescheme the info is about.
3. The max number of children you can host in a session?
4. Number of hours of childcare did you offer during survey week? (multiply the max number of children possible by the number of hours open in a week)
5. Number of booked hours during the survey week? (Multiply the number of children booked for the week by the number of hours they were booked for)
6. Do you offer NEF / Early Years Funding ?   Yes or No.

IF No continue with Question 9 and 10.

7. Number of NEF hours you offered during survey week? (Multiply the number of possible NEF children by the number of hours they could attend in the week)
8. Number of NEF hours that were booked during survey week. (Multiply the number of NEF hours that were booked during survey week).

9. Do you offer care before 8.00am or after 6.00pm?

 If Yes then how many hours per week?

10.Has your childcare business been negatively affected by the recession over the last year or so?
